General Overview		Friendly, smart and always has a smile for everyone. Complete professional with her patients. Quiet most of the time she is the one that isn't the center of attention. She prefers to do her job and go home. Rarely does she drink socially or privately, for being a doctor she's always on call. Ariana, or AJ to her friends, is reserved, yet does like to hang out in the holodeck. All in all, she is a very bright and dedicated woman to Starfleet, her job and her friends.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Ariana is good at observation and able to pick up signs that most would miss. Works with a unyielding drive, able to multi-task and pushes others to do the same who work with her. Weakness is she doesn't take much time for herself, as a deep fear of snakes, and anything that looks like a snake. AJ also has a strong sense of pride and confidence, one has to make the judgement if it is a strength or weakness.
Ambitions		AJ ambition in life is to be the best doctor she can be, her plans for the future aren't one that seeks to be head of Starfleet medical just be the best doctor she can be where she is at.
Hobbies & Interests		Martial Arts, music, reading, dancing, herbal medicine, collecting rare books. Walks along the beach in the holodeck, as well as holo-adventures, and collecting art.

History

Personal History		Ariana Juliet Kalyn was born the second child of Ben and Ananda Kalyn. From the moment she was born she was her father's little girl in every way, from her first word to her first steps, all was directed toward him. She was an average child but her parents encouraged her and told her she could become anything she wanted. What Ariana wanted was to follow in her father's footsteps and become a medical doctor, though she wasn't sure if it would be as a civilian or if she would join up with Starfleet. It wasn't until she was a teenager that she looked more into joining Starfleet looked to be the path she wanted to follow. The idea of exploration, space travel and doing what she wanted to do all in one seemed to be everything she wanted. In school she was in everything from sports to accelerated academics. Because of all this she was able to graduate a head of her class, with the graduation of General Education she turned her attentions toward Starfleet and then on to Starfleet Medical. Entering Starfleet Academy she majored in medical Sciences with a minor in biology. Her four years went by fairly quickly, it was there at Starfleet Academy where she learned that one could still live with a broken heart. Having fell in love with a boy, but soon realized he didn't feel the same for her. After that she devoted herself to her career, not wanting to think anything more of having a life outside of work. Ariana wasted no time when she graduated from Starfleet Academy and signed up for Starfleet Medical the very next day. Her time at Starfleet Medical was harder then anything she had experienced before, but AJ was filled with determination and drive and that was what helped her get through the four years there. The day of her graduation from Starfleet Medical she felt so very proud of herself and it was only supported by the way her father looked at her. AJ was soon posted on the USS Georgetown where she put in her two years of residency. She never realized how many different kind of people she would come in contact with, but the drive and determination that pushed her through was still within her and found she quickly made friends and soon realized just how much this was fulfilling her life. After her time on the USS Georgetown she was assigned to the USS Heraclion, where she served as assistant chief medical officer. Ariana loved her time on the Heraclion, and the two years she served there went by far to fast. The surprise came when she was offered the opportunity to serve as Chief Medical Officer onboard the USS Horizon NCC 74661-A. She thought it over for a little while, but decided to accept the offer. Currently Dr. Ariana "AJ" Kalyn serves onboard the USS Horizon as Chief Medical Officer.
