"Chief Strategic Operations Officer's log. After hearing Commander Bradford's plans for the combined medical-science runabout and seeing it for myself in the holodeck, I feel confident that the Captain and the senior staff will agree that his proposal is a good idea and accept the design.

We spent an hour or more refining some of the minor construction concerns and what may have been too long on my part assessing the form factor and level of comfortability, particularly in the seating. Between us, we addressed all problems that became immediate to us, and foremost on our minds was the concern of the nacelle placement. This was rectified by placing the nacelles slightly closer to the front of the runabout and three inches higher than before. There will also need to be some severe structural changes regarding the removal of and the follow-up installation of another, as well as reconfiguring the wiring within the walls to accommodate the added functions of both Sciences and Medical. Most of the weapons systems will need to be replaced and the entire piloting area will be decreased to make room for the bio beds and other necessary equipment. I believe the plans are being covered at the upcoming senior staff meeting, which I should probably attend before this log runs into it.
