Mission: Dangerous Waters (Prologue)

Vinnie had been going over reports plus piloting at the same time since they left dock, there was a bump when the ship fell out of warp and they were in the sector the Captain called wanting to know why they stopped.

"Captain, I think you might want to get up here, I know why we fell out of warp and the cause of the problem." Vinnie said.

Staring out of the glow was a bright star, sensors indicating it would go in a few hours. he waited till the Captain arrived.

Within moment, Alex was up on the bridge. "Okay, let me know what is going on," said Alex.

"Captain, we have a star thats about to go nova in a few hours, sensors are picking up a damaged ferengi vessel just outside of the corona." Vinnie said.

"Can we get in without getting sucked in?"

Vinnie tapped the board and shook his head. "Captain, unless they can get their engines started not likely. We are holding at a ok distance but we get closer the radiation is getting higher, I am reading life signs over there but faint."I am now picking up another ferengi vessel it's on a intercept course should be here in a few minutes."

"Okay," said Alex. "Do we know where the life signs are coming from?"

"Difficult to pin down but my guess would be the engine room, it would be the most protected place on the ship."

"Can we get the damaged ship out at all?"

"It maybe possible if we can do a joint rescue with the ferengi ship use both ships tractor beams, that way we can better protect ourselves from the radiation, but if we have to I recommend contacting the Doctor about innoculating everyone."

"Okay," said Alex.
