OOC: This is after the discussion with Deanna
It was morning now and Alex wanted to find out from AJ as to if she was going to do anything about the chip in her head. Alex slowly walked to sickbay with the cane helping her to walk. She was still slow but with some physical therapy, she would improve in time. It was not something that would happen overnight. She had some progress though.
Alex saw that Deanna and the doctor were talking. She waited til they were done before she knocked at the door.
Deanna left and then Alex came up to the door. "Hey doctor," said Alex.
AJ stood up and was getting some fresh coffee when Alex came in. "Hey, just going to contact you." She said and gestured to the chair. "Want something to drink?" AJ asked.
"Coffee would be nice," said Alex as she took the chair.
Getting two cups of coffee she handed one to Alex and sat back down behind her desk. "I've read over your medical file and ready to do the surgery. I want to set it up for tomorrow, if that's good with you?"
Alex nodded yes. At the mention of her being able to do this, Alex was getting a bit nervous. It will be even worse when tomorrow comes. She just knew it. Still she wanted this done regardless of how nervous she may be. She wanted the damm chip out of her head.
"Thank you. When do you want to do this?" Alex asked.
"First thing in the morning.. usually quiet that time of day and once it's over you should be alright." AJ said as she watched her new found friend. "You have any questions, if not, I want you here at 0700 tomorrow."
"Not really," said Alex. "I do remember those days. Those days were not that long ago. On the Essex after I returned I was the Chief Counselor and was the assistant chief medical officer. Yeah those mornings can be quiet."
"So, I'll see you in the morning then." AJ said and smiled. "Don't worry, you'll be just fine."
"I hope so," said Alex.
** Next Day: 0700 Sickbay **
AJ walked into the room where Alex was and moved over to the bed. "So are you ready?" AJ asked, knowing Deanna was probably on her way at this point as well.
"Yeah. Just a bit nervous is all," said Alex. "But I want it out."
"We'll get it out, Alex." AJ assured her and patted her hand. "Going to give you a sedative, when you wake up it'll be out." The blond woman said as she fixed the hypospray. "T'Lana, Scott... lets get Alex into surgery." AJ said walking beside the hover bed as they moved her into a surgical ward. "I'll see you when you wake up, Alex.." Aj said as she injected her with the hypo.
Alex nodded as she felt the hypo against her skin. It took a few moments until Alex felt her eyes growing heavy until she was engulf by darkness.
-- Hour Later --
It had taken AJ longer then she thought to perform the surgery. Then she was being careful to and didn't want to rush something she really didn't know why it was there, really wasn't doing anything. "Lana, hand me the hypo, lets see Alex is ready to wake up." AJ said as she pressed the hypo to Alex neck and the hiss sound told she injected the woman with something to help her wake up.
Alex's eyes started to focus and fuzzily AJ face came into view. "Hi," said Alex quietly.
"Hey.. sunshine. How you feeling?" AJ asked.
"Tired," said Alex. "But okay I think."
"Good." AJ said then looked at Alex's vitals.
"Did everything go okay," asked Alex.
AJ looked to Alex. "Everything went fine..." AJ said then picked up a small dish. "Want to see the implant?" AJ asked as she showed Alex what she had removed. "It was embedded deep, so took longer then I thought but we got it and you came through just fine."
Alex smiled weakly. "Leave it to Menze," said Alex yawning. "So can I go?"
"You can in about thirty minutes... want to make sure that you don't have any side effects. Other then that don't see a reason why you would need to stay here. I can have the computer monitor your vitals inform me if anything changes." AJ said.
Alex sighed. "Okay," said Alex.
"For now, rest and in half hour you can leave." AJ said smiling and patting her shoulder then left her alone to rest some.
