Meeting

Posted on Thu Oct 22nd, 2009 @ 6:01pm by Commander Alexandria King & Major James Racktor

Mission: Dangerous Waters (Prologue)
Location: bridge

Newly promoted Lt. JG Chris Hartley looked around the Engine room. Empty, Pristine, and perfect. The warp core wasn't online yet, but it would soon be. He still couldn't believe his luck. Here he was, promoted to CEO aboard a brand new vessel. He couldn't wait. He didn't know who any of the crew were, but he was going to find out. He looked at a panel, and sighed as he saw his spots which seemed to blare out. He hated them.

He sighed, and walked away from the console. He knew that the commanding officer was already aboard ship, but he wanted to see his engine room first. As he left engineering, he took a turbolift straight up to the bridge. Exiting, he took a deep breath, and smiled. A brand new bridge, fresh carpets, fresh everything. He saw a woman sitting in the centre seat, alone, and buried a smile. ~Better report in.~ He thought. "Ah, C..." He started as he walked around to the front. Then he saw who the CO was. "Oh, bloody hell!" He exclaimed, half angry, half hormonal, as part of him recognised the woman, and felt a deep longing.

Alex was sitting in the captain's chair on the bridge. She was trying to get the feeling of the ship. She could not believe that she was there. It was only yesturday that she was only a doctor, but to command this was a dream to her. Alex felt a pressence and emotions in the room. She turned her head to chris. "Hello Lieutenant," said Alex.

"Alexandria King." Chris said. He felt like he wanted to grab her and kiss her. ~Oh, will you piss off~ Chris mentally told the second voice in his head. "Look...I'm sorry...I'll ask for a transfer."

"Why?"

"Right, you don't know." Chris commented. "I'm Chris Hartley. Whilst I hate to admit it, I'm also carrying a damned worm in me. Goes by the name of Kendall" Chris said.

Alex still looked puzzled.

"You don't remember?" Chris asked. He sighed, and closed his eyes. For a brief time, he'd allow Kendall to take over. He looked up, and opened his eyes, his eyes seeming deeper now. "Hello Alexandria. I'm hurt you don't remember me. Of course, back at the Academy, I went by the name of Jason."

"Jason who?"

Kendall sighed. "Has it really been so long?" He asked, his voice deeper than Chris's. "Alex, back at the Academy, you and I were to be married...before one of my former host's passed away in a shuttle crash."

"Oh that Jason." All Alex wanted to do was forget.

Kendall smiled. "So you remember me then? I remember you, of course. All the times we shared. I never once forgot about you."

Alex kept her cool. She was not going to show her true feelings about it. "I do."

Kendall smiled as he approached her. "I realise how...difficult this will be. My host and I don't exactly see eye to eye about much, I'm afraid. But he could feel how I felt for you...how I still feel."

"That was our past.," said Alex.

"Sadly, yes." Kendall admitted. "Will this be a problem? My being here?"

"No," said Alex.

"Good." Kendall said. He leant in and kissed her softly on the lips before pulling back. "I missed you, Alex." He said softly.

Alex pulled back. "No. You can't do this. Not now."

"Alex...do you not still remember our love?" Kendall asked?

'Yes, but I have moved on with my life."

Kendall nodded. "That is your decision, of course. But know that I have always been, and will always be, yours." Kendall said.

Alex nodded. She pulled a padd out with the room assignments and gave to him what his assignment was and sent him on his way.

I will be around...Alex." Kendall said. He looked down, with his eyes closed, and this time, it was Chris who looked up. "Oh, you have got to be kidding me?" He stated, looking at his new CO. "He kissed you? Bloody hell, damned worm is more trouble than he's worth." Chris muttered, storming off to the turbolift
